Strategic sustainability plattform
A passion project
Driving impactful sustainability practices at scale requires bridging the gap between operational and strategic organizational practices, product design, and user understanding. Addressing this need, a framework was developed during a five-month master thesis project (January to June 2024) to empower large-scale organizations with diverse product portfolios. The framework enables organizations to delve into user journeys and identify opportunities for driving sustainable change in ways that benefit the company, its products, and its users.
I am currently working on a concept for a plattform meant to transform strategic sustainability.

A user centric framework
for strategic sustainability focusing on repairability
To stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape, Dometic sought to understand how the Right to Repair (R2R) legislation will impact their product portfolio and how to lead the way in repairability. Addressing this complex and often inaccessible topic, a comprehensive set of guidelines was developed to deepen the understanding of repairability and integrate it into both general product development and Dometic’s specific needs.
Using an iterative, user-centered design process grounded in Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles, extensive research was conducted employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. Insights from these studies were analyzed to map user needs and connect them with actionable organizational solutions.
The outcome is a robust 3-phase, 13-stage framework that redefines the repairability user journey. This framework links user needs with strategic organizational measures, offering a holistic perspective and enabling Dometic to prioritize actions with the greatest potential for impact.

A circular baby carrier
Baby carriers play a vital role in the daily lives of parents and caregivers, fostering connection with the child while offering the freedom of hands-free mobility. Despite their intended use cycle of up to 1.5 years, carriers are often discarded prematurely due to poor fit for either the baby or the caregiver. Many households resort to using multiple carriers to accommodate different caregivers’ body types. This presents an opportunity to extend the usable lifespan of a single carrier, promoting sustainability and circularity in baby products. Additionally, enhancing the caregiver’s experience and ensuring safety for both the child and the user remains a key focus.
Rund addresses these challenges with a modular carrying system. The straps and harnesses adjust to the caregiver’s needs, while interchangeable components adapt to the child’s size, weight, and developmental stage, such as transitioning to forward-facing positions. Caregivers provide regular updates on their needs, triggering automatic upgrades sent directly to their home for exchange. This approach allows families to maintain two carrying setups simultaneously at the cost of one, maximizing flexibility and usability.
The result is Rund, a baby carrier designed for a rental model and a supporting service fleet of baby products. This comprehensive project spans three key phases: a research study on baby carriers leading to the service blueprint, a brand creation inspired by Folksam that launched the Rund spinoff, and the individual product design of the carrier itself. Together, these elements form a fully realized, branded rental service designed to revolutionize baby product circularity.
